Who We Are
Identity, History & Mission
of the Filipino Family
A faith-based non-profit sustaining and nourishing the Filipino spirit — the values printed on every Filipino passport: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Maka-Bansa, at Maka-Kalikasan.
Our Foundation
Rooted in Faith,
Carried by Family
Defending Family Values Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to sustaining and nourishing the Filipino spirit — the values printed on every Filipino passport: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Maka-Bansa, at Maka-Kalikasan.
Born from the fruits of the Sama Sa Roma Jubilee Year 2025 Conference in Rome, DFV Foundation carries forward the mission of rediscovering and living out the identity, history, and calling of the Global Filipino — through family, witnessing, and community wherever they may be.
Culture is the shared set of beliefs, values, and traditions passed down through generations. The Filipino identity — deeply rooted in faith, love of country, care for people, and stewardship of creation — is what DFV is committed to protecting and passing on.
Faith-Centered
Every program is grounded in the Catholic faith and the spiritual heritage of the Filipino people.
Family-First
The family is the first school — DFV programs start there and radiate outward to community and nation.
Global Filipino
Serving the Filipino diaspora across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.
Mission-Driven
A continuation of the Sama Sa Roma Declaration — translating conviction into concrete action.
“The Filipino spirit — open, compassionate, and faith-driven — does not merely adapt to new lands; it renews them.”
Sama Sa Roma — Simbayanan
Jubilee Year 2025
A historic gathering of Filipinos from all continents — a profound affirmation of identity, faith, and mission. In the heart of Rome, delegates renewed their commitment to live as Pilgrims of Hope, in unity with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Augustinianum, October 10–11, 2025.
